More Eco-Friendly for 2022

In our push to become ever more environmentally friendly, this year we will not be providing swim hats and will only issue one race number per competitor. Please bring your own swim hat and a number belt for your race number. Both will be available to purchase on the day if you do not have them.

Here is how we are working towards an eco-friendly event:

2018    – started using compostable cups

2019    – stopped using single use plastics

2021    – no swim hats (many are thrown away after the event)

2022    – trying hard to encourage competitors and spectators to arrive on foot, bike or public transport

– single race number (Tyvek numbers are not easily recyclable, also saves safety pins)

– competitors can opt out of their race shirt (we will make a donation to Norfolk Wildlife Trust instead)

Supporting Blue Bear Coffee

Have you got enough run wear? If you prefer we can make a donation to Blue Bear in place of your souvenir race shirt this year. You will still get your finisher’s medal.

Blue Bear’s founder Bryn Frere-Smith will be with us over the entire weekend of this years Norwich Triathlon serving you his amazing coffee blends, talking to you about the charity which was established to fight human trafficking and caring for its survivors.

Why this chairty link? Well we always want to support local and with Bryn being a local lad we made the link because we know how much triathletes love a coffee and a good cause.
